Whether you have a small farm, homestead, or have backyard chickens, you will learn how to successfully raise and process your own meat chickens. We will share about different breeds and raising methods, teach about ethical processing methods and you will leave the workshop with the confidence of being able to process your own food. This 4.5 hour workshop includes: - preparing for processing - scalding - plucking - evisceration - parting out birds - final check and chill Lunch is included and each participant will leave with their own processed bird! Please wear appropriate clothing. We suggest clothing items you do not mind getting dirty and wet, along with close-toed shoes. For safe transportation, we also suggest for you to bring along a cooler big enough to fit a whole chicken.
