Goats

We raise miniature goats here at Hidden Oaks, they make the best little farm buddies. We raise them as livestock and pets for sale and also make use of their delicious milk.

Not only is their milk amazingly creamy, it tastes delicious. We consume it on our farm but do not sell milk or dairy products. We do, however, sell goat milk soap, which we make by hand here on the farm.

Kune Kune Pigs

The Kunekune is a small breed of domestic pig from New Zealand. Kunekune are hairy with a rotund build, and may bear wattles hanging from their lower jaws. Their colour ranges from black and white, to ginger, cream, gold-tip, black, brown, and tricoloured. They have a docile, friendly nature, and can successfully be kept as pets.

Kune Kune meat will have a rich pink to scarlet color, marbled with luscious fat. Because the animals are raised on pasture and fed mostly on grass, hay, and garden produce, the meat is tasty and nutrient-dense.

Miniature Cattle

Don't let the word miniature cattle fool you. They still grow up to be sizable animals, however, mini cattle is selectively bred for the smaller size and they will typically weigh in at around a third to half of what regular size cattle would be.

This makes them a great fit for smaller pastures. Due to their smaller sizes they are easier to handle and it takes much less pasture and hay in general to keep them well fed. Other than their size and weight, mini cattle is the same as standard size.

In recent years, as farm pets have become more known by the general population, mini cattle has become a fashionable pet.

Rex Rabbits

In addition to our other meat sources, we raise rabbits. When we first added rabbits, we secured them from a registered breeder who was actually selling us their show rabbits. Not only are they useful to have around and very cuddly, they are beautiful!

Rabbits are amazing creatures! They provide us with amazing organic fertilizer for our garden and cost pretty much close to zero to feed and raise, as they are very happy with vegetable scraps and hay.

We keep our rabbits mainly for fertilizer production and do sell rabbit kits as pets, and we can also use them as a source of food, as needed.
